The Servant Leadership Team (SLT) is a dynamic group of student leaders called to enhance the work of Campus Ministry. Servant Leaders grow as disciples of Jesus through the shared experience of prayer, theological reflection, and community engagement.
Interested students apply to become a part of SLT in the spring semester. After a mutual discernment process focusing on complementary strengths and leadership styles, Campus Ministry staff invite 5–6 students to be key student collaborators and peer ministers for the coming school year. During the summer, the incoming team participates as a group in a retreat or conference to grow in both leadership and spirituality and to begin planning for the coming year.
SLT has implemented numerous creative initiatives, such as:
Weekly Eucharistic Adoration
Weekly newsletters (The Faith Filled Flush)
Regular community bonfires
The Living Stone small faith-sharing group program
Many members of SLT go on to fill other leadership positions both within Campus Ministry and across campus. Motivated by their love of Christ and his people, SLT alumni have graduated and taken positions as professional lay ministers, teachers of theology, music ministers, and other service professionals.
