We welcome students and families anytime during business hours. The Office of Financial Aid is located on the ground floor of Waldschmidt Hall. We are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; closed weekends and holidays. If you are unable to get your questions answered at the counter, counselors are available by appointment, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

October 1 - 2017-2018 FAFSA will be available
For the 2017-2018 school year, the FAFSA
will be available starting October 1, 2016. Students will utilize their 2015 tax information to complete the 2017-2018 FAFSA
application. It is important to complete the FAFSA as early as possible to maximize financial aid eligibility. The priority deadline to submit your FAFSA to the University of Portland is January 15, 2017.
November 1 - OSAC Scholarship Application is available
On November 1 the OSAC (Oregon Office of Student Access and Completion) Scholarship Application becomes available for the 2017-18 school year. Oregon residents can complete the OSAC scholarship application which provides access to over 500 scholarships. The early bird deadline is February 15, 2017 and the final deadline is March 1, 2017. December 1 - Priority Deadline for Spring Semester Paperwork
December 1 is the priority deadline for submitting additional information, verification materials (if selected) and other forms requested by the Office of Financial Aid. It is also the priority deadline for completing loan application processes (Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized, PLUS, Grad PLUS, Nursing, Perkins, and Alternative loans) for Spring 2017 semester.
December 1 - FIRST Scholarship Application is available
The 2017-18 FIRST Scholarship Application is available starting December 1, 2016. Each year the University of Portland offers five $3,000 FIRST Scholarships to incoming freshmen, planning to major in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) field, who participated in a FIRST Tech or Robotics competition in high school. The FIRST Scholarship Application
can be filled out online and submitted to UP along with a letter of reference. The deadline for the FIRST Scholarship is April 1, 2017.
January 15 - Priority FAFSA Receipt Deadline
Student's FAFSA must be received by the Office of Financial Aid by January 15, 2017 for maximum consideration. You may still complete a FAFSA after this date to be considered for aid for the 2017-18 year, however, your aid may be delayed.
