12:28     Student came into Public Safety to report that their bike had been stolen from the Corrado bike rack.  The bike was unsecured and not registered with the university.  Officers took a report and the student was also referred to Portland Police Bureau.

02:22     Officers responded to a call from hall staff stating the hall smelled of marijuana.  Officers arrived and found the source.  Room searches were conducted.  Drugs and paraphernalia were found and confiscated.  The students were referred to the Student Conduct Board.

15:57     Officers responded to a report of a vehicle break in.  The vehicle was parked in the area of Portsmouth and Strong.  The only item taken was a phone charger.  Officers took a report and referred the student to Portland Police Bureau.  The case remains under investigation.

21:35     Officers made contact with a person that was previously trespassed.  The person was trespassed and escorted off campus.

23:36     Hall staff in Mehling Hall requested officers evaluate an intoxicated underage student.  Advanced medical assistance was contacted and student was transported to the hospital.  Matter was referred to Residence Life for follow-up.

01:10     Hall staff requested evaluation of underage intoxicated student.  Officers requested advanced medical assistance.  Paramedics determined student required transport to the hospital.  Matter referred to Residence Life for follow-up.

01:31     Students came into Public Safety to report that they had witnessed an assault at an event off campus.  Officers took statements by the students.  The incident remains under investigation.

02:09     Report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Waldschmidt Hall.  Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

13:40     Student came into Public Safety to report that their iPhone was stolen.  The officer took a report and referred the student to Portland Police Department to make a theft report.

02:20     Officers responded to a noise complaint in the area of the 5000 block of Princeton.  Officers made contact with the renters and they were compliant. No other calls were received.

04:58     Officers reported the Public Safety sign stolen from in front of the office. The case remains under investigation.

11:50     Bon Appetit staff reported vandalism to a personal vehicle which had occurred sometime before 1700 hours on the 18th of February in the main parking lot.  Investigation suspended with no current suspects.

21:17     Officers at Buckley Center loading buses for the dance requested hall staff to escort an intoxicated student back to their residence hall.  Matter referred to Residence Life for student conduct process.

21:37     Officers at the Crystal Ballroom sent an underage student back to campus on the bus for intoxication.  Student was placed in the care of Hall Staff and the matter was referred to Residence Life for the student conduct process.

21:41     Officers at Buckley Center requested Hall Staff be called to escort an underage intoxicated student back to their residence hall.  Matter was referred to Residence Life for the student conduct process.

22:01    Staff at the Pilot House reported an underage student passed out in a restroom.  Officers responded and requested medical assistance.  Paramedics arrived and transported student to hospital.  Matter referred to Residence Life for student conduct process.

22:06     Officers reported an underage intoxicated student at Buckley Center.  Emergency medical response called but determined transport unnecessary.  Student escorted back to residence hall by Hall Staff.  Matter referred to Residence Life for student conduct process.

22:19     Officers at Crystal Ballroom sent underage intoxicated student back on bus.  Student escorted back to residence hall by hall staff.  Matter was referred to Residence Life for student conduct process.

22:22     Student attempted to use fake ID at Crystal Ballroom.  Officers confiscated fake ID, student fled the area.  Matter referred to Residence Life for student conduct process.

23:20     Officers checking an underage intoxicated student at Kenna Hall.  Student is okay and left in the care of a friend.  Matter referred to Residence Life for follow up.

01:32     Received a noise complaint in the area of the 4700 block of N. Yale.  Officers were dispatched to location. Renters complied and no other calls were received.

17:46     Theft of a vehicle was reported at the 5400 block of N. Strong. The case was referred to Portland Police Department for the filing of the report. 

22:56     Received a noise complaint in the area of the 5400 block of N. Yale.  Public Safety was unable to verify that University of Portland students resided at the location. Referred caller to Portland Police Department for further action. No other calls were received.

00:22  Police request presence of Public Safety officers for students detained at McKenna Park for possession of drug paraphernalia. Public Safety officers returned students to their residence halls, the matter was referred to the student conduct process. 

09:28  Student contacted Public Safety to advise that Portland Police were coming to campus to take a statement regarding a violation of a protective order.  Matter was handled by Portland Police Bureau and no further information was provided to Public Safety.

11:16  Students in the library reported a suspicious person behaving erratically.  Individual left campus as officers were trying to make contact.  No further action taken.

22:51  Officers were flagged down by a neighbor reporting a loud party on the 7300 block of N. Jordan.  A call was received from a neighbor regarding large numbers of students moving down the street and broken bottles in the area, officers reported that the party was breaking up and they were in the area.  Officers cleared when the nuisance was abated.

02:00  Students in Mehling reported another student who was intoxicated and entering other student's rooms uninvited.  Officers located student and worked with Hall Staff to ensure that they were safe for the evening.  Matter referred to Residence Life for student conduct process.

09:28  Student reported harassment by non-community members in the area around the intersection of N. Syracuse and N. Haven.  Student does not wish action to be taken, just wanted to make department aware of the incident.  No action taken in accordance with student's request.

00:36 Officers made contact with two suspicious individuals on campus. Portland Police Bureau was available to assist in identifying the two suspects. Both suspects were not part of the university community and asked to leave the area. They were both compliant.

16:31 Student came in to report that her cell phone was stolen from the Beauchamp Center. Officers made a report and the case remains under investigation.

23:24  Received call from hall staff in Fields Hall for officers to verify identity of two individuals claiming to be students but unable to produce ID.  Officers verified the identity of two students who were found to be underage and intoxicated.  Students were provided an escort back to their dorm, and the matter was referred to Residence Life for follow-up.

09:50  Students reported a vehicle striking a parked vehicle in the main parking lot, resulting in minor damage, then left the area.  Officers contacted the driver of the vehicle which struck the other vehicle and information was exchanged.

21:20  Hall staff in Fields reported the smell of marijuana around a particular room.  Officers contacted the student who lives in the room, who surrendered marijuana and paraphernalia.  Matter was referred to Residence Life for student conduct process.

00:18 Neighbor called and reported an intoxicated student walking down the 4700 block of N. Amherst. Neighbor was advised to contact PPB due to limited patrol staff availability. Neighbor called back and had determined exact identity of student. Neighbor reported that they were able to get student back to the house where he was attending a function.

21:06 Student called and reported credit card fraud that led them to believe their rental unit on the 5700 block of N. Yale in Portland had been burglarized, they are currently out of town for the holidays and unable to confirm. Officers drove by the residence in question and it appeared secured. There was no visible sign of forced entry. 1/23/2017 - Update: On 1/4/2017 the student confirmed that the house had, indeed, been burglarized and that the matter had been reported to the Portland Police Bureau for investigation.

12:34 Student came into the office to report suspicious individual matching earlier description following her and muttering inappropriate comments about the student. Officers resumed search of campus and were able to locate the individual as he departed campus. Portland Police Bureau was contacted and attempted to locate the individual, but were unable to do so.

11:48 Student reported a suspicious individual matching description of earlier call following the student and making inappropriate comments under his breath. Student reported that they had last seen the individual outside Kenna Hall five minutes earlier and that he had been leaving the area. Officers conducted a search of the campus but could not locate the individual.

09:46 Student reported a suspicious individual on Portsmouth following the student and muttering inappropriate remarks approximately ten minutes prior. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the individual.

01:36 Student called the Public Safety office to report that their vehicle was broken into and several items of value were taken. The vehicle was parked in the 5300 block of Princeton. The student made a report with Portland Police. The case remains under investigation.

01:22 Officers responded to a noise complaint in the area of the 5500 block of North Yale. Officers made contact with the renters and they were compliant. No other calls were received.

21:00 Officers reported vandalism at the Chiles Center caused by a student who was excluded from the soccer game due to intoxication. Officers were able to identify the student and submitted a report for the incident to the Office of Residence Life for processing through the student conduct process.

00:00 Officers responded to a party complaint in the area of the 4700 block of N. Yale. Officers made contact with the renters and they were compliant. The party was closed. No other calls were received.

17:00 Hall staff in Schoenfeldt Hall reported inappropriate writing on a white board inside the building. Staff had removed the writing, investigation was suspended due to lack of information.

22:10 Officers responded to a party complaint in the area of the 6900 block of N. Haven. Officers made contact with the renters and they were compliant. The party was closed. No other calls were received.

12:15 Resident living in the area of the 6400 Block of Amherst Street wanted to report that their vehicle was broken into during the early morning hours. The resident made a report with Portland Police.

20:21 A student reported that an individual excluded from campus was in Tyson Hall. Officers contacted the individual and they were removed from campus.
