ReadUP - One Book Together

ReadUP logo - One Book TogetherReadUP is University of Portland's annual celebration of literature in which the entire campus community — students, faculty, and staff — are invited and encouraged to read "one book together." Free copies of each year's selection are distributed by the Clark Library, and book discussion groups are formed in the residence halls and at faculty/staff brown bag lunches. The campaign culminates with a public lecture and discussion by the book's author, sponsored by the Schoenfeldt Distinguished Visiting Writers Series.

The 2016-2017 ReadUP selection is Anthony Doerr's Pulitzer Prize-winning All the Light We Cannot See. The novel, about a blind French girl and a young German soldier whose paths cross in an unlikely way during World War II, illuminates the ways, against all odds, people try to be good to one another.
